General Submissions

We are seeking stand-alone and series novels in the following in the New Adult and Adult age range:

  • Paranormal Suspense
  • Paranormal Thriller
  • Paranormal Mystery
  • Paranormal Cozy Mystery

 

Guidelines:

  • We’re looking for something that keeps readers turning the page for the next clue, suspenseful moment, or puzzle. Seeking things that feel like the early Anita Blake, Dresden Files, or Angie Foxx. Bring us your hunters, your assassins, your amateur sleuths, your quirky, your magical, your best.
  • No romances–a romantic interest is OK, but it cannot be the primary storyline.
  • 70k to 120k words in length–first in series are welcome.
  • We encourage diverse characters and stories from any culture.
  • We accept both agented and unagented submissions.
  • New and experienced authors welcome.

 

Formatting Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions should be in .doc or .docx formats
  • Title, name, contact information, and word count on front page
  • Synopsis on the first page
  • Submit only the first THREE chapters

 

Include your name, story title, email address, mailing address, and a short bio (you will not be locked into your title or bio – if selected, we will work with you on fine tuning this if needed) on the first page. Start your story on the second page.

 

All story submissions must be emailed to submissions@novalynnpress.com with the Title – Author Name – Genre in the subject line.

Celestial Falls Shared World

Welcome to Celestial Falls, a city you can find in any country, state, territory, or time where the stars fall.

Constellations fall to earth for different reasons. Some seek redemption and second chances, looking for new adventures, and fulfilling their destiny. We are looking for authors to tell their stories. Any cultural constellations are available, be it Western culture or otherwise.

Length: Each author will write a novel in the shared world series, so we are looking for novels 50,000 words and up.

Buy in: None! These books will be published by NovaLynn Press LLC, we are a small press and do not charge buy ins for our projects!

Expectations: NovaLynn Press is working as a traditional press and will cover edits, cover design, and marketing. We encourage authors to share through their channels and promote on their social sites and newsletters. Authors will need to meet the editing and production timeline set forth as part of their acceptance into the set or may be removed. A signed W-9 (or applicable non-US entity’s) tax form will be required as well as a signed contract.

How to submit your first ten pages and summary:

  1. We can accept Microsoft word (.doc, .docx) files. Please leave your story in standard formatting – this is generally 12pt font with 1 inch margins. We won’t be double checking, but please make it easy to read.
  2. Include your name, story title, email address, mailing address, and a short bio (you will not be locked into your title or bio – if selected, we will work with you on fine tuning this if needed) on the first page. Start your story on the second page.
  3. Stories do not need to be fully edited, but please read it over a couple times to make sure there are no major issues. We will provide editing to the selected stories.
  4. This is a rolling submission, but we are looking to have considerations for the first books to have the first 10 pages and a 2 page plot summary submitted tosubmissions@novalynnpress.com. Please include Celestial Falls – <Author Name> in the subject line.

Haunted Shades Anthology

Not everything is black and white, not even in death. Welcome to the colorful world of haunted places and things. Is your ghost librarian obsessed with a purple book? Is there a ghost in your blue boombox? Is there a yellow aura chilling in your bathroom? We’re looking for spirits related to the color of the rainbow (and black and white). (This is not a specific LGBTQ+ themed anthology, but we do accept LGBTQ+ stories.)

NovaLynn press is looking for 9 authors to submit to this anthology. Submissions are to be no longer than 20k words and should have the color involved in a major way within the story.
